We Didn’t Have Big Pharma In Those Days

Please do not think that I love to mar the reductionistic style medicine that the allopathic practitioners use. Their aim is to minimise the aches and pains with what ever means they can and they will do so without question from the patient.
For centuries both allopathic and holistic medicines lived side by side for the simple reason being surgical guys can cut and repair but who used to give them anaesthesia? Who would prepare the bodies for surgery pre op and repair the operation scars with natural medicine post op?

We didn’t have Big Pharma in those days so why was the break away by the allopathic medical practioners?

Billions of dollars have been spent over the past decade on cancer research so why does the mortality rate for cancer grow with the amount we spend on research.
Makes you wonder. Only but 80 years ago humans died predominantly from natural causes and infections being one of the major killers. Look what Big Pharma has done for us.
We now live longer! We now, more than ever in history, have become so reliant on medication and we do not see that YES! We can cure most diseases and ailments in society today. Most of which were created by the doctors, Big Pharma, governments. All of them the biggest money spinners in history from cancer, cardio vascular, diabetes and the list goes on.

With what I have just been through over the past three months astounded me more than I can tell. Patient care when you are diagnosed with a terminal disease flies out the window.
I have two siblings who have been through cancer, one bowel and the other oropharyngeal cancer. One alive, one recently passed. Once they were diagnosed with stage three paperwork was lost within the medical system in South Australia.
In one case, the brother that passed, paperwork lost for 15 weeks, the other 6 weeks before they were admitted, lost paperwork and nobody knew anything about it. Another sibling, a matron of one of the major hospitals in New Zealand, misdiagnosed and 6months later she passed.

Why am I telling you this?

It’s not anger for what they did to my siblings.  This has been a fight of mine since I was thirteen and after going through cancer myself, listened to all the lies and betrayal to the very oath they took to protect their patient.  After thirty years researching cancers, I could not believe the way patients are being treated in today’s hospitals and also by doctors.

If you do not have private health and you have cancer?  If you don’t have the fight required in the public system then without sounding too harsh but the system does not care whether you make it or not.  If in private health you have all the opportunities.

My question is, “Is this what they  promised us with the Hippocratic Oath?  No it isn”t!   It’s not that I do not trust the allopathic medical profession, they have a job to do but stick to the job at hand, helping humans live, but since Big Pharma the dollar became more important than the human lives they swore to protect.

Go Figure and you don’t need to light a candle to see that

Challenge The Norm

In this particular situation what we needed to look at was the method of radiation. What they were using was a patient on their back so that the linear machine could do the radiation with the face locked in place onto the table. Because of laryngeal or pharyngeal and oropharyngeal cancers and the size of the tumor on my brother’s throat has now encompassed 100% of the oral cavity allowing him only to breathe through his nose. What I purported was a block that they use for CT scan face down to allow the weight of the tongue to clear the throat so that my brother could breathe while he was receiving radiation therapy. When it was first suggested it was knocked back because it was a change in procedure, there was no options.

In the last two weeks I gave them two options, brachytherapy if the tumour was small enough or the other option was face down with a CT block to allow aspiration. On Friday the method was tried and the technique was approved by the Registrar Oncologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital who also works for Health SA, the Radiologist who works for Health SA and also the attending oncologist at the hospital my brother is at, the Lyall McEwan Hospital. So in one sense, one battle won for my brother, in another way, another battle won to be able to give oncologists a new way of approaching their technique and method rather than following the book. Lot of hard work but this time around it was worth it for my brother and also for the 60,000 plus suffers who will be diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancers in Australia alone. Around the world it will effect and estimated 657,000 will be diagnosed with oropharyngeal cancers, 330,000 will not survive. That’s around 50% survival rate and I wasn’t going to let that happen when I am told there are options. There Are ALWAYS Options, you just need to ask what they are.

What about nutritional supplementation?

One of the most important things about looking after your health is making sure you are getting the right stuff to help the body do it’s work and do it properly and that means all bits and pieces on the inside working properly. Sometimes when we do fall down with health we revert to pharmaceuticals but what if the body was healthy, really healthy that you very rarely became ill. Imagine that! When you do go through a disease of any kind it is nutrition that you should look at first before anything. You’ve heard of the paradym “You are what you eat?” It is true! More often than we are blinded to it or we have never been taught about it but nutrition is the core to healthy body and I mean nutrition that actually work. Where do you find this in our modern day and age? Nowhere! The foods we now eat is filled with chemicals and since the increase of pre packaged food around the world so to came the growth of diseases.

One of the most important things I found out years ago was that nutrition was at the core of many diseases but I did not realise how many of them were so easy to help with with better education on nutrition. Looking at the 29 people I currently work with in Australia most have had problems with health and turned to alternatives to help them get health and life back together. The diseases among our group is Cancer, Diabetes Type I and II, Arthritis, Dementia, Alzheimer’s, PCOS, MTHFR, Anxiety, Bipolar, PTSD, cardiovascular issues and all of them back on track to getting health and life on track in just one year. Around the world we are building an army of people dedicated to nothing but you health, your well being and your future. Which company do you know can you say that about?

A New Way Of Doing Things

One of the things I have learned going through cancer was that you must challenge the norm. At the end of the day, This Is Your Life You Are Dealing With, you have as much right as the doctors do to make decisions that regard your life. They will tell you that when it comes to the crunch, the decisions is yours, exercise your right to do so but make certain you know what you are talking about.

Today came a new challenge for the radiologists. We had a day of radiation planned but after seeing what my brother was going through over the past few days I asked him to challenge the system. Last week on Friday he was to get radiation treatment but again couldn’t because of the method of the procedure. I noticed last week after spending sometime with my brother and chatting with him when a thunder bolt hit me. I thought that if we used some of the tools like some of the head and chin wedges from CT scans where the patient would lay face down while getting a CT scan. My question was, “Could this method be applied to this procedure, radiation therapy, for this particular case due the size of the tumour in my brothers throat?
While I was at the hospital on Friday last week, 3 days later, I mentioned to the radiologist that day if we tried something like face down, where he feels comfortable and no breathing problems from phlegm blocking the throat, could this be done. His response was, “No! He needs to be in that position on his back for it to work properly. So I left it at that and, for another day, radiation therapy was again put aside because of a problem they had with no solution but was so obvious to a laymen in the field of medicine but very skilled from the years of theoretical and practical research.
Today, three days later, we went back in for another round of radiation and again the same problems arose so I again challenged the radiologist, another guy, and asked if there was a possibility that we could have a look at trying to have him face down. Do you think the procedure can work this way. This radiologist jumped at the thought because he could see there was a possibility that it may work and he will be putting his recommendations to the Registrar of Oncology so that they can make a decision about continuing radiation now that we might have an answer.
Why was that important? the tumour covers 100% of the mouth where aspiration is only through the nose. With the build up of phlegm at the back of the throat means that he would not be able to breathe, he would simply choke on phlegm. To be able to reduce the size of the tongue we need to continue radiation. To be able to do this they needed to find a solution and find a solution quickly. As we have given them something to think about and if the Registered Oncologist agrees then maybe we may have a new method for patients in a similar situation as my brothers case.

There is no such thing as there is only one way. There are options out there for us;

We Just Need To Find Another Way To Make It Happen.

There Are Always Options! We just need to find them. We all walk blind sometimes as humans, sometimes we choose to see and sometimes we choose not to. Keep the mind open and there will always be options.

Allopathic or holistic

Today coming in to see my brother I had a meeting with Dr Patel (oncologist) and also a visiting oncologist. The discussion was about his nutrition, dosage of opiods and what we could do to assist from home to help Sid heal but it ended up as a debate by the doctor at the end of the conversation. He, Sid, left the hospital at 39kgs and returned four days later at 51.9kgs and when asked what he was having I said he had nutritional supplements I bring into Australia. They were organic, natural with the same nutritional facts as what they were using and also contains more vitamins and minerals, pre and probitics to help the stomach. This discussion ended up as a debate based on what is better Allopathic medicine or Holistic Medicine. I couldn’t quite see the reason why we had this discussion when it wasn’t a discussion about product but about patient. He, the visiting oncologist, then said, If you think you can do better with your products then take him home and heal him if you think you can do better or let us do our jobs. This was in front of the patient from a visiting oncologist. They have all given up because what they are doing is not working and they don’t care about “alternative medicine”, even if it works. So! Whatever happened to the hippocratic oath.
All I could say to that was “Was this conversation about products? No! It was about the patient? He left here severely underweight, bowels blocked for two months of which you did nothing about and with no hope. He comes back four days later, walking full of energy, everything functioning and you ask me to let you do your jobs? If you were doing you jobs he would not have been in the position he is in in the first place.

Duty of care is no longer a priority due to understaffing and no experienced senior staff and nurses who have walked the miles. The

Adelaide and My Brothers

When I decided to do a Facebook live I didn’t expect along the way that I would get a call from my brother and my niece, father and daughter, one down with tongue cancer, the other with a double mastectomy, breast cancer in the pipeline.

So what’s next ?

My family have suffered with tongue, lymphoma, throat, lung, myeloma, breast cancers and I am certain that there are other varieties in that basket and I know I have work in Adelaide with my big brother. Seven out of ten in my immediate family have been through cancer. Two in complete remission, one in his first year still not in complete remission, one battling stage four aggressive tongue cancer, three of us didn’t survive.

We need to look at our lifestyle to be able to understand why our current health globally is in the worse state it has ever been then. Our foods today lack the nutrition in the soil because of over spraying of chemicals, overfarming and the list goes on.

I’ll keep you posted.
